Title: Delivery Date and Delivery Type Check Enhancement
Description: The following two enhancements will be implemented on Friday, May 6, 2011.

Requested Delivery Date: You will now be required to enter the Requested Delivery Date for your order when creating a shopping basket; this is the date you want the order to arrive on your dock. Previously, the date was defaulted to today’s date.

Delivery Type Check: You will now receive a warning message if the Requested Delivery Date you entered cannot be met using the Delivery Type (shipping method) selected. You will also receive a warning message if any line items in your order has a Requested Delivery Date of today or tomorrow, requiring that you change it.

Benefits:

•	Identifies when transportation method won’t meet requested delivery date
•	Reduces likelihood of early, unexpected shipments
•	Results in more efficient order planning and processing
•	May reduce the number of shipments per order

Choosing a Requested Delivery Date and Delivery Type

Some important facts to consider when selecting your Requested Delivery Date and Delivery Type are:

No rush orders:

Rush orders are those orders that need to be delivered in 2 days or less, and MUST be placed via Customer Service, not through eCommerce.

Order processing time:

Standard orders submitted through eCommerce, typically, pending material availability, will ship two business days (at the earliest) after the order is placed.

Transportation
time:

Standard ground transportation time can determined at ups.com/maps or fedex.com/grd/maps, or by viewing the maps below.

•	An order shipped via 2-day shipping will arrive 4 days after the order was placed*.
•	An order shipped overnight will arrive 3 days after the order was placed*.

*Pending material availability

Calculating Requested Delivery Date:

Add order processing time (2 business days) and transportation time to determine the Requested Delivery Date. Orders needed in 2 business days or less are rush orders and MUST be placed via Customer Service.
